The 2010 Midwest Gaming Classic Saturday, March 27-28 , 2010 Brookfield(Milwaukee) , WI

What is the Midwest Gaming Classic?

  • You may have heard that the Midwest Gaming Classic is an "all encompassing electronic gaming event," and you may be aware that the event features home video games, pinball machines, arcade video games and computers, but you may be wondering more about what you should expect when you come to what we call the trade show where electricity plays. I hope through this introduction, you'll get a better sense of what we have tried to make the Midwest Gaming Classic, and what it is that I believe the event is all about.
  • The Midwest Gaming Classic is about celebrating gaming. All of the main organizers of the Midwest Gaming Classic are gamers first. The show began in 2001 as a celebration of one of our favorite game consoles, and it has blossomed since then into a 28,000+ square foot gaming extravaganza that covers everything a gamer could want to know about the industry.
  • The Midwest Gaming Classic is about trying new things. No matter what you are into now, we want you to stop in and try your hand at a little bit of everything. If you like the old school games, try some of the latest ones. If you like new games, try some of the old. If you like pinball, take the time to check out the computers. And so on. The Midwest Gaming Classic will introduce you to all aspects of electronic gaming, and you'll have a lot of fun with them all.
  • The Midwest Gaming Classic is about learning things about the hobby of electronic gaming. No one knows every aspect about his or her favorite aspects of gaming. Whether you find out something new by interacting with the person that created the game or just another fan who found something neat out, if you look around, there are lots of great opportunities to learn new and exciting things about your favorite hobby.
  • The Midwest Gaming Classic is about meeting other people who share the love of electronic gaming. The event is a place where friends who chat on the internet get together to meet face-to-face for the first time; where old friends run into each other and discuss their favorite arcade game that they used to play together as kids in the arcade. Everyone can meet new friends who share a common interest.
  • Finally, the Midwest Gaming Classic is fun. This means exactly what it sounds like. If you come to the show and you enjoy any sort of electronic gaming, you will have fun playing your favorites, competing against others, hearing from people in the industry about how games are made and finding new games to purchase and play. No matter if you only have one console and a handful of games or so many different games and consoles that you lost count years ago, you'll have fun at this show.
  • I'm extremely excited about the upcoming event, and we will keep you updated with all of the happenings for the show on this web site, so make sure to sign up for the mailing list and check back often to find out all about the exciting things that will be happening at the show. Thanks for stopping by today, and make sure to say "hi" to me when you see me at the show!

Gamer Camp November 21, 2009 Toronto, Ontario

Welcome to Gamercamp, Toronto's newest gathering for game developers and enthusiasts!

  • Gamercamp celebrates the artistry, history, and creativity behind the games that kept you up all night and well into the next day. Get inspired by fresh ideas from passionate, knowledgable speakers, an open demo stage for Toronto's best and up-and-coming, and an exhibition from Canada's first arcade museum.
  • We started Gamercamp out of an obsession for video games and a belief that the the journey to how games are made is as fun as the games themselves. For example, we dig retro games not only in a nostalgic sense but also how they are applicable to game development today. New classics like Shadow Complex and platforms like the iPhone are taking things back to priority one: smart, stream-lined design to produce addictive, can't-get-enough fun games.
  • So if you begged with tears to get an NES, thought quarters were the only coin worth keeping, or spent entire weekends sketching out side-scroller levels, join us for a day for the love of game.
  • Welcome to our unique closing party 1UP! After a packed day of all things gamer, what better way to end than with unlimited freeplay of original and rare arcade games from the Replay Arcade Museum. So roll-up those sleeves and get ready to relive your favourite arcade memories, this is going to be a blast from the past!
  • Entrance fee is $15 per person

Total Prize Package: $36,500!

PAPA is a players' organization devoted to promoting pinball as a form of recreation and competitive sport. PAPA sponsors international tournaments, operates the PAPA Advanced Rating System (PARS), and encourages the spread of the "pinball bug" from player to player.

The three skill divisions are designated A, B, and C. The C division is suitable for casual players, first-time competitors, and other novices. The B division is suitable for players with league or tournament experience, or anyone looking for a greater challenge and potential reward. The A division is for league or tournament champions and other world-class players.

The special divisions may be entered by any player who meets requirements, independent of entries in other divisions. The Juniors division is open to players 16 years of age or younger. The Seniors division is open to players 50 years of age or older. The Classics division is open to all players, and utilizes only pinball machines released at least 20 years before the date of the tournament; Classics will always include some electromechanical models.
